Atelier 5 remains committed to its mission: We passionately believe that everyone possesses a potential for expressive, poignant movement.

Last season we began an exciting collaboration with Sieglinde Van Damme, an installation artist. Together we performed at the Dancin’ Downtown festival at the San Jose Museum of Art. We also did an adaptation at ModernBook in Palo Alto. In addition, we received a grant from Mentor Graphics to continue to develop this work.

We are excited to have a new board member and three individuals who have volunteered their skills in writing, lighting, design, and website engineering.

Still, it is most challenging to be an arts non-profit in these times of limited funding. We can use any financial assistance that you might be able to provide. As a 501c3, you donations are tax deductible.

Your money can buy:

• Rehearsal space rental. This costs $25/hour and a typical dance may require 30-40 hours of rehearsal

• Payment to the dancers for performance

• Costumes. These can cost anywhere from $10 to $100/dancer. We have six company dancers

• Lighting

• Printing of publicity and marketing materials

• Buying music

• Space rentals. If we rent a space for a show that we produce, space can cost anywhere from $500 to $1000 for an evening
